Find Your People and Grow with Them
A workshop for freelancers and consultants
Most client pipelines run on guesswork. You chase whoever responds, and the work feels random.
A steadier pipeline starts with knowing exactly who you serve.
Then it grows through relationships with people who already trust you.
A live, 90-minute workshop brought to you by
Sarah Duran of Fruition Initiatives and Janna Carlson of The Co-Promotion Club
What we’ll cover
First, you get specific about your ideal client. You map who your best clients are, what keeps them up at night, and where they already spend their time.
Then you use that picture to build relationship-based marketing. We’ll explore how co-promotion introduces you to new audiences and builds trust.
We’ll also learn how to start building referral partnerships, and exactly what steps to take after a great first coffee chat.
What you’ll walk away with
A detailed picture of your ideal client, including the problems they bring to you
A clear sense of where those clients already gather
A working approach to co-promotion and referral partnerships
Practical first steps to start both, and how each one supports the other

This workshop is for established freelancers, consultants, and solo business owners.
You have clients. You do good work. But you still feel unsure about who you should be working with and how to find more of them.
You are a good fit if:
You have a steady stream of work, but you take on whatever comes in
Your proposals feel generic, and you are not sure why they don’t land
You want new clients, but you are tired of cold outreach and social media
You want to grow through trust and referrals, not more noise
This workshop is not for you if:
You are just starting out and do not yet have clients
You are looking for a quick fix or a set of templates to copy
You want someone to tell you exactly what to do and do it for you
You are not willing to look honestly at who your best clients are
About the hosts
Sarah Duran
Sarah works as an independent COO.
She builds the operations behind a business, the systems that keep it running when the owner is not in every decision. Her clients are solo and micro business owners who have built something real but never had a blueprint for running it. Many of them still handle everything in their own head. Sarah helps them get it out and into systems they can use.
She also leads The Solopreneur Collaborative, a small peer working group for established solo and micro business owners who want to run their business on purpose.
Sarah also writes The Hustler’s Manifesto newsletter for independent workers building something sustainable.
Janna Carlson
Janna Carlson is the founder of The Co-Promotion Club, a membership where online service providers build referral networks through trust and mutual support.
Janna leads workshops, programs, and cohorts that help business owners with the strategic and practical sides of building referral partnerships – all through a non-transactional, human-first approach.
Janna also writes Working Relationship, a newsletter of practical tips and real-life examples around building the partnerships that help us stay in business.

No. This workshop is interactive, so we don’t record it. The discussion, exercises, and questions are part of the value. You will receive the workshop resources after the session so you can work through them on your own time.
-
You get a clearer picture of your ideal client and a practical approach to co-promotion and referral partnerships. You also receive the workshop resources afterward.

Think about your best clients before the workshop. Who do you enjoy working with most? What do they struggle with before they hire you? Bring those answers with you.
-
